Joy

When we were not able to get a doctor to support us and felt all hope was lost, a lovely member of the SI forum from the US who was in India at the time for egg retrieval gave us hope.  Her name is Joy!  Many of you know who Joy is, and know that she successfully had a baby boy in November 2009.  Joy contacted her doctor in Minnesota who was moving to Canada, and put us in touch.  We have had three successful cycles with Dr M, and he is a lovely doctor, a real gem. Joy and her husband Kelly will always have a huge place in our hearts as they had a hand in making this all possible for us!
Monday night I got to meet my lovely Joy in person!! Joy was in town for work and we were able to connect for dinner.  We have emailed over the last year and spoken on the phone but nothing beats sitting down for good ole fashioned gal chat, and that we did.  We had an amazing time and it felt as if we had known each other for ever!  This a night I will remember forever.  And Joy, I owe you cash for the convenience store purchase - in all the excitement I forgot to settle up!
We are very fortunate to have met some amazing people along the way. We are blessed to have great friends at home and all of you around the world.
Oh and by the way, our beta is on the 17th!!!

  1. Oh, I can't wait until you have a post with this title and it isn't a proper noun, but a adjective!!! Keeping fingers crossed for your beta test next week!

  2. How wonderful for you to meet! Joy was a big help to us too, sharing tons of good advice with us as we prepared to go to India for the birth of our first twins last January.

  3. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE JOY and hubby Kelly. I am so jealous you got to meet. We are going to be in the Falls for Blaze's first b0day, but probably not as far as T.O, BUT if we are I will definitely look you up. So happy you guys got to bond. I had an amazing visit with Jackie when she came to Phoenix. Nothing better!

  8. I can't say enough how fantastic it is that we can end up with life long friends as a result of wanting to create a family. There is true joy in that!!

Thinking your results aren't due for a few more days as it was only 11 days past transfer on the 17th, so everything is crossed until you hear.
